What if… we had to go to school year round?? Imagine what life would be like if we didn’t have a nice long summer break? Many schools in the US go to school year-round with a three week break 3 times a year. That would mean that we would have time off throughout the year, but during those warm, awesome, summer beach months… we would have to be in school!! I know, me personally, would HATE that! I am not a big fan of the cold weather. I don’t even like the cool weather! I live for the summer when I can spend time by the pool, on the beach, and out on the boat. I would not know what to do with myself if I had time off during the colder months. I wouldn’t go outside, and I would probably be quite depressed! I enjoy the two and a half month break over the summer months, and I think that it is a much needed break for the children as well. It is also a time when many families get to take family vacations. What would we do without family vacations?? Ugh… just the thought of no summer break makes me really sad!!
Going to school year round?! Sounds crazy to me! But, then again, people who go to school year round might think WE are crazy for NOT going to school year round. I wonder what we would think if the people who have school year round and the people who don’t trade schools for a few weeks. Would we change our mind about what we think about how our school runs?
I would hate that too! Going to school year round? That would be awful! I wonder if all those people who do this can't imagine the way we do things. They just go to school the way they're used to it. Oh, how do they live!?
Me personally would HATE going to school year round. I love summer, and we shouldn’t be forced to not enjoy ourselves. If we had school year round, I would just play hookie! :)
Going to school year round sounds crazy. I love to swim and without summer break I wouldn't get to do that as much as I would like to. Without this break I think kids would enjoy school less then they do now.
I know that me personally, would NOT like school year round. In a lot of schools around the world they do this very thing, not just some places in the US. For example in Australia and most Asian countries they have school year round with only a three week break in August ...and THEN the school year starts up again. They do have other breaks and holidays off during the year, but I feel the same way as Mrs. Dybas. I live for warm weather and hate to be cold. Also, summer time break is a fun time for me to spend with my family, whether at my MomMom's pool or at the beach with my mom and friends.
What if.. Animals could talk? What would they say? Are they smarter than us? I HAVE SO MANY QUESTIONS!!!!! I would love to be able to communicate with animals! They could help us solve problems in the world, give us their opinion on everything, like what they think of Donald Trump. OR, maybe they would be the cause of world destruction. Who knows? But, I think it would be great. They might even be smarter than us, and maybe they could even help us with our homework! That’s weird to think about it. An animal, helping you with homework. But, it also seems amazing, doesn’t it? If my dog could talk, she would probably be helping me think of what to say right now. Imagine an ANIMAL teaching you how to spell or multiply or ANYTHING. Will animals ever start to talk? I’m not sure. Nobody is probably. But, I am sure I’ll be very happy if animals start to talk. Unless they DO cause world destruction, then I might not be too happy about that. But, other than that, talking animals seem unlikely, but absolutely, insanely, magical!
I have wondered that myself. Sometimes I will look at my dogs and pretend that I know what they are thinking. It is always wonderful things, but what if they were actually making fun of us? I mean, I know we must sound bizarre, but I'm sure they are laughing at us! Great job!
I agree, it would be AWESOME if animals could talk! I would love to get my dog's opinion on Donald Trump! And you're right, animals could be smarter than us by a long shot! Us humans think we're sooo smart, but what if our own pets think of us as dumbies?! :)
Louisa, that would be spectacular.Getting rid of Donald Trump… oh and the animal thing to. Im kidding. No but serioursly he needs to go. But animals talking is an interesting topic. You nailed it.
I think it is a good thought of what our animals think! Maybe they would be be just like us, and need to learn things. Hey if that happens I will open a school for animals.
First I have to say I agree with Avary, Donald Trump needs to go. Anyway, yes I think if animals could talk there would be way less animal cruelty in the world. I am very much in favor of animal rights and do NOT like that my stepdad and mom hunt. My mom only hunts animals for food, but my stepdad hunts for trophy and then gets it taxidermy. If animals could talk we would see them more as living souls and not just an "animal" to boss around and take advantage of.
What if….I was to die tomorrow. Would I feel happy with the life I’ve lead? I always think about things I could’ve done better throughout my life. I could have picked up that old lady’s money when she dropped it, I could have donated just a little more cash to the fundraiser at school, and so on and so on. Sometimes, even the smallest acts of kindness can make someone’s day. I believe this, but I guess I’m what you’d call a hypocrite, because I, like everyone else, am not perfect and CAN do better. So, does this mean that we should just give up, because it doesn’t matter? Of course not! Although we can not be perfect, we can come close to it. We should make the most of our life. Who knows? It is possible that we could die tomorrow. Or, we could die in seventy years! But we must do our best to live our life to the fullest. That young child who died tragically early might have lived a more successful, and accomplished life than the eighty year old man who never had the thought to get up off his couch and make something of his life. No matter who we are we all need to ask ourselves one question: “What kind of life am I leading?”
Shannon, you are an amazing friend and you seem to have an amazing life. You have so many friend, a loving family, and the best REACH class ever! If you were to die tomorrow we would have a river of tears. You should love the life youve lived
I think that if my life were to end I would be pleased with the life I have been fortunate to live. I would, however, be quite sad at all of the things I was going to miss. My children are at awesome times in their lives right now, and i wouldn't want to miss any of it. I would also be upset about missing weddings, grandchildren, college and high school graduations, etc. Great job!
I would not feel happy if I died because we always think i can do better with our life. If you were in my life you would probably think it was awesome. Everyone can do better with their life, but we should always be happy with the life we lead.
If my life were to end I think I would be pleased with the life I lived. I would miss my friends and family but I would feel accomplished in life. But if I weren't to die I would be pleased because I would have my family and friends.
This is a tough one for me because I have a hard time with death because I lost my father two years ago, I was only 9 1/2. If I were to die tomorrow, I believe I would go to a good place where my dad currently is, BUT I wouldn't feel that I completed everything I needed to just yet. I have so much more living to do. Plus my mother's heart would be broken, and that would just make me the saddest soul EVER.
What if…. You were the only person on Earth. Would you be lonely or would you love it? I personally would hate it because I love to see my friends and family and I don’t know what I would do without them. They help me through a lot of things in my life. What would you do in a world by yourself. There would be no one talk to or teach you things. You would have no friends, family, teachers, and doctors. You would have to make sure you stayed healthy. It would also be nice though, because it would be harder for you to get sick. But, after a while I think I would get really lonely. After a while you would realize that you were alone and that no one was there to help you. You might have to make a really big decision and no one would be there to help you make the right choice.
Oh my!! I think that I would be an extremely lonely person if I were to be the only person on Earth. I suppose that if I started life as the only person it wouldn't be too bad because I wouldn't know any better. But, if I already had people around me and then they are perished or something...if I had to teach myself to live alone after having people around me, I wouldn't be very happy! Great job!
If i was the only person on Earth, I would die. I wouldn’t be able to support my life, I can’t even cook! Still we are all ok, and it will stay that way, FOR NOW!
I personally could not go one day by myself! I'm always surrounded with family and friends, and without them I would go crazy! All by myself? Now that I think about it, life would be a little better without my brother...
I couldn't survive being the only person on earth. I would be responsible for all of my needs including food! I am not much of a survivalist and barely know how to fish. I would wind up starving to death eventually. Great question !
What if humans couldn’t speak. People always ask the common question of “Can my pet speak?” But what if WE can’t speak. If we couldn’t communicate what would happen? Will we all be living a lonely life or will we figure out a different form of communication? Without speaking how will we agree on the communication. Speaking is something everyone takes for granted. We couldn’t be taught in school, share ideas, or simply chat with our friends without speaking. What if you had an amazing idea, but since you can’t speak how could you share it? Communicating makes everything easier. Especially communicating in the form of talking. I think life will be lonely for everyone without speaking. Speaking gives a fast and easy way to communicate. People have been talking for thousands of years. People must say thousands of words a day, but what if you couldn’t say anything AT ALL?
That is a very interesting question. I think that if we couldn't speak we would find a different way to communicate. Perhaps, since terrible things couldn't be said, we would be a friendlier, more kind society. I do feel that we are a very social society, so even if we couldn't speak, perhaps we would develop more of a sign language-type communication. Great thoughts.
Without talking, our world would be a mess! Like you said, we can't share ideas, chat with friends, or be taught in school without speaking! When people say, "Zip it, lock it, put it in your pocket," to little kids, they don't think about what they're really saying!
Without people being able to talk our world would be worse and better. It would be worse because you couldn't communicate with anyone unless you know sign language. It would be better because no body could be bullied by people who call them names.
If humans couldn't speak we would definitely have to find other ways to communicate. Maybe developed mentally telepathy? I agree that if we couldn't say hurtful things to each other the world would be a better place! Ive been bullied before and it really stinks.
What if there was no such thing as money? What would you do? Where would you go? I guess I would probably go to Disney, but that's my personal opinion. Would there be more crime? Would all problems be solved? It makes you think how people base their lives around money. People are so obsessed with the new shoes and handbags, that nobody takes time to think about the topic. People say that the more money the more popular. That's not true. We should respect our parents and family for no profit. Would the whole year be Black Friday? Would everyone go crazy? Would some people be scared? I would. I would be terrified! People could get guns and rapid fire. Prisoners won't have to pay bale fees. But there is also a positive side to the story. People won't have to stress about taxes or mortgage. You could have stress free family outing. You could be closer to your family. But if your greedy, you might run of the get a new MAC eyeshadow palette or a Lamborghini. I guess the last words would be: money doesn't matter.
I have thought many times about this very topic. I do believe that money is the root to all evil, and creates a tremendous amount of stress on marriages, families, and even the country. I think right now we live in a society where the rich is getting richer, the poor is staying poor, and the middle class is getting poor. Hopefully things will change with a new President. Who knows. Good Job!
If money didn’t exist the world would be chaotic. People would be rushing to get everything they could at an instant. People would be working for free, and it wouldn’t be fair!
I always wonder that too! I mean, without money, our world would certainly be changed! The question is, will it change for the better or for the worst? Great answer!
If we had a world without money I think we would HAVE to use barter/ trade. After all, isn't that what people used before currency? However, It wouldn't work in today's world; we are a society used to a lot of luxury and extras. Long ago people just worked and traded for necessities NOT "extras' like cable tv and Playstations.
What if the entire world was as smart as Albert Einstein? Do you think that it would be better or worse? Personally I think that it would be a lot worse. If I was extremely smart I’d use my knowledge to my full potential. Which means I wouldn’t play much of my favorite sports or have many different things to talk about. I’d be studying, reading, or maybe something really big like making insane nuclear technology! I’m sure that it would be great, but not for everyone(like me). Some people are already like that and that’s great! However in my opinion being book smart isn’t as important as being street smart. Personally I think that learning how to make new friends and how to live in the “real world” would be a lot more important. In a way being book smart would be good too because you go to mars or another universe. I’d love to know everything, but I’d think that at times it would get a little on the annoying side.
Knowledge is power, and that is why I strive to have a lot. I believe that I am more capable of growing intellect wise. Maybe one day I'll get to be slightly inferior but still about the same IQ as good old Albert Einstein.
I don't know if I would like to be as smart as Einstein. I guess it would be pretty cool, but I'd rather do other things like making new friends, and having fun, like you said! Knowledge is great, but it isn't everything.
I agree that knowledge is power! However, if we were all the same intellect I think the world would be boring. Having people in the world who excel at different things and learn differently makes the world a lot more interesting. So I don't think it would be a positive experience.
What if...you knew the answers to life’s hardest questions, like “is anyone out there?” (aliens), or the cure to cancer, but when you try and tell someone, no one believes you? This can play out in two scenarios, one in which everyone completely disregards your statement, and one in which everyone ignores you, but they try your idea for confirmation. Option 1 will leave humanity at a standstill. You know the cure to cancer, not EVERYONE. This ties in with another dilemma, Smart versus Dumb. What if the dumb people thought they were smart, and everyone believed, and smart people were believed to be dumb? Humanity will plummet. Option 2 will enrich humanity, but you will not get the credit. I prefer option two, because any growth is better than none. Let me see what everyone else thinks about this issue, I’d love to know how you will handle it.
This would be great, but sad. Like I said to Nick, we would know what makes us die. We would be remembered, but maybe you wouldn’t live long enough to see.
That would be great. You could help save so many lives and cure many diseases. You would know how you would die and maybe you could prevent it. Great job!
That would be great. You could help save so many lives and cure many diseases. You would know how you would die and maybe you could prevent it. Great job!
That would be pretty cool, but frustrating if people didn't believe you. I personally would like to know those answers, just because there's a possibility that others will try my statements out. Great answer!
Great question! If you knew the cure for cancer do you know how many lives would be saved?? How many families wouldn't have to suffer sadnesses and financial difficulty that goes along with that awful disease? Even if people didn't believe you, you could STILL cure people!
What if….. The earth somehow became not able to support life. Where would we go? Maybe Mars, or Jupiter. What things would you bring if you somehow knew. I would bring all of my stuffed animals, but not my electronics, but only if we had Wi-fi. My dogs would be a necessity, but only if they could come back to life, unfortunately they all passed away. The world would be so different. Maybe we would have to bring as much water as we can to survive. What would we do in our daily life. We would most likely not have wifi, and not have school, so what else would we do with our life. Schoolgone, wifi gone, TV gone, video games GONE, what else do we do? This is just a thought, and the world might end soon, but that is when we are DEAD so don't worry about it.
Good question. Imagine just watching television and the news says that Earth can no longer support life. I don't know what I would do or where I would go. I would leave it up to my parents.
Good question. Imagine just watching television and the news says that Earth can no longer support life. I don't know what I would do or where I would go. I would leave it up to my parents.
I have no idea what would happen if Earth couldn't support life. We probably would all panic! Without electronics? We would go insane! Oh, the world ending would be pretty bad too. Great answer! 😎
This has been a question thought about by scientists before. I heard that maybe one day they would make a colony on the moon or Mars, but that they would have to have a biosphere of some sort to support human life. If I were to live in one of these other planet biospheres, I would take my WiiU, all of my electronics and of course my mom and sister and my whole family. They would have to have WiFi; think about it, if they can make a colony on another planet they sure would be able to come up with getting wifi there. Great question.
What if we existed in a world without the electronics we have today? What I mean is no cellphones, no satellite or cable TV, no computers of any kind, no video games or satellite radio. How would our lives be different. I feel two ways about this. I think for the most part, people would be better off because we would have more person to person communication without everyone having their faces in there phones or iPads. On the flip side, communication worldwide would be less than it is now and the world would be a lot bigger; we also wouldn't get as much work done (especially schoolwork like THIS) with the ease we have now. How do you feel about this? How would life be without the technology we have today? Im interested to see what everyone says.

DeleteIf we had a world without money I think we would HAVE to use barter/ trade. After all, isn't that what people used before currency? However, It wouldn't work in today's world; we are a society used to a lot of luxury and extras. Long ago people just worked and traded for necessities NOT "extras' like cable tv and Playstations.
DeleteWhat if the entire world was as smart as Albert Einstein?
ReplyDeleteKnowledge is power, and that is why I strive to have a lot. I believe that I am more capable of growing intellect wise. Maybe one day I'll get to be slightly inferior but still about the same IQ as good old Albert Einstein.
DeleteIf we knew everything, we would all be sad. We would all know what would make us die. This would be sad for me.
DeleteMe, personally, would not like to know everything. I wouldn't want to know how I would die. But like Yan said, "Knowledge is power."
DeleteI don't know if I would like to be as smart as Einstein. I guess it would be pretty cool, but I'd rather do other things like making new friends, and having fun, like you said! Knowledge is great, but it isn't everything.
DeleteI agree that knowledge is power! However, if we were all the same intellect I think the world would be boring. Having people in the world who excel at different things and learn differently makes the world a lot more interesting. So I don't think it would be a positive experience.
DeleteWhat if...you knew the answers to life’s hardest questions, like “is anyone out there?” (aliens), or the cure to cancer, but when you try and tell someone, no one believes you?
ReplyDeleteThis would be great, but sad. Like I said to Nick, we would know what makes us die. We would be remembered, but maybe you wouldn’t live long enough to see.
DeleteThat would be great. You could help save so many lives and cure many diseases. You would know how you would die and maybe you could prevent it. Great job!

DeleteThat would be pretty cool, but frustrating if people didn't believe you. I personally would like to know those answers, just because there's a possibility that others will try my statements out. Great answer!
DeleteGreat question! If you knew the cure for cancer do you know how many lives would be saved?? How many families wouldn't have to suffer sadnesses and financial difficulty that goes along with that awful disease? Even if people didn't believe you, you could STILL cure people!
DeleteWhat if…..
ReplyDeleteGood question. Imagine just watching television and the news says that Earth can no longer support life. I don't know what I would do or where I would go. I would leave it up to my parents.

DeleteI have no idea what would happen if Earth couldn't support life. We probably would all panic! Without electronics? We would go insane! Oh, the world ending would be pretty bad too. Great answer! 😎
DeleteThis has been a question thought about by scientists before.
DeleteWhat if we existed in a world without the electronics we have today? What I mean is no cellphones, no satellite or cable TV, no computers of any kind, no video games or satellite radio. How would our lives be different. I feel two ways about this. I think for the most part, people would be better off because we would have more person to person communication without everyone having their faces in there phones or iPads. On the flip side, communication worldwide would be less than it is now and the world would be a lot bigger; we also wouldn't get as much work done (especially schoolwork like THIS) with the ease we have now. How do you feel about this? How would life be without the technology we have today? Im interested to see what everyone says.
