What is the FIRST thing you are going to do once summer vacation starts?

  1. The first thing I am going to do once summer vacation starts is RELAX. For me, summer vacation means beach days with my mom and my sister, days at my grandparents pool in Point Pleasant Beach and summer vacations. I also am going to spend a lot more time outside practicing my kickball skills. Im really looking forward to summer.

    1. Relaxing is one of my favorite things to do in summer, too! In the summer, you have all the time in the world to do whatever you want. Beach days, and vacations, like you said in your comment, are necessities of summer. Great answer!

    2. I also love to relax when it comes to summertime. What kids wouldn't love being with their family and relaxing. I am also going to do that this summer.

    3. Relaxing is a key part to summer break! I think that it sounds like you have some fun things planned. I'm sure the beach will be fun; I know it is one of my favorite places too. Good Job!

  2. Honestly, once the final bell rings at the end of the last day of school I’m going to, in Avery’s words, RUN! (inside class joke) I’m going to run out of that torture building and get home as quick as possible! If you mean what I’m going to do first when I get home, well then, that’s easy. I’m going to go outside and swim in my pool, while eating FOOD! Life’s always better with food! Going home on the last day of school, (or should I say the first day of summer) is one of the best days of the year! Why? Because you know, that when you take that last step out of the building, that you’re never coming back for a whole summer! Or in our case, as sixth graders, we’ll never come back at all! School can be stressful, and hard. Especially the homework. Ugh, the homework! We stay in school for about six and a half hours, and the teachers still feel the need to load us up with seven hours of pointless homework! I know that we have to learn, but we have to have fun too! After all, we’re still kids. And kids, at least most of us, like to do three things in life: play (whether it be outside or video games), sleep, and EAT! :)

    3. I must agree with you that having time to relax and not have to do work will be a wonderful thing! I am sure you are excited to get out for summer break, but remember that you will be leaving this school for good! I'm sure you will miss us a little! Good Job!

  3. The first thing I am going to do when summer break starts is swim. I love to swim and even take swimming lessons. I also might have a bonfire and barbeque. Most importantly, though, I am going to spend time with my family. When summer break starts my aunt will be up from Florida. I am so excited because she is going to dye my hair. I will also probably hang out with my friends. I am so excited for summer break to start and all the activities I am going to do including field hockey for Southern. This summer is going to be the best and most exciting summer. I also have to start thinking about what I am going to do in Southern Regional Middle School. I hope my summer is going to be very fun and I hope I get to accomplish all the things I have planned to do this summer.

    1. Swimming is also going to be at the top of my list! I really love the pool at my grandparents and the ocean. Boogie boarding is fun also. I am also starting to think about going to Southern next year. I am going to be in MAXTAP and I am very excited about that.

    2. I love swimming too! I just recently have gotton a pool, and love it! Spending time with family is great. I'm starting to think about Southern, but not too much! In summer, I just don't think about school! Great answer!

  4. When I first get out of school, I will most likely go in my pool when I get home. I know in movies kids throw their papers, the second they get outside, but I might cry. I will most likely cry, because I was raised in those 2 schools, and we are leaving it to go somewhere else. But probably I will cry tears of joy, because I’m FINALLY leaving school. I’m looking forward to going to all of the fun camps this summer. I’m going to acting camp, painting camp, and the summer camp I always go to. They go on trips like water parks, a farm, all fun stuff like that! Unfortunately we all have to do summer reading. So all f that no homework stress is not being all captures by three books due by the end of the summer. The beach will also be a big part of my summer. Bummer, I know, but we have all summer, right!

    2. I apologize for that previous post, this is Andrew, my mom had changed back to her Google account and I didn't realize it.
I can understand you feeling sad because you were raised in those two schools. This is my first year in Waretown so I won't feel the same way as you, but i can definitely understand.

    3. I agree that jumping in the pool sounds like a wonderful idea! I also agree that although I think you will be happy because it will be summer break, you 6th graders, I think will also be a bit sad! But, SRMS, here you come! Good Job!

    4. I love this school too, and will be a bit sad when we leave it for good.:( But SRMS is a pretty good school, too (I think), although, like you said, it stinks that we have to do summer reading. Those camps sound really cool, too!

    5. I am with you Andie. The first thing I am going to do when I get out of school I am probably going to swim. I also might relax and listen to music.

  5. The first thing I will do during summer vacation is sleep. I will have enough time to catch up on all the sleep I missed doing homework. I might be asleep for the whole day. That will be the 2nd coolest thing I do this summer. The thing I want to do first off for sure is TRY to get in shape. I don't want to keep looking like a potato chip eating, lazy, fat, slacker. This would help me get ready for the "fun run" in Southern. Getting in shape will also help me do better in Police Academy. Sadly this is my third and final year at the camp. But getting in shape will also make me feel better about myself.

    1. I agree with you completely! I will spend some time relaxing and taking it easy! I also need to focus on getting back to the gym and getting back in shape! It's been a lazy spring for me where that is concerned! Good Job!

    2. Yay for sleeping! I think that after this long school year, we all need one huge fifty hour sleep! Getting back in shape is also a good thing to do, and I certainly need to do it. I've been spending a lot of time sleeping, although I don't completely regret it...

    3. I agree with you. I definitely will be sleeping. For school you have to get up early but in summer you can sleep late. There is no getting up early.

  6. I hope the first thing I do when summer vacation starts is go to the beach or pool because that’s what I loved doing. I can’t swim that well because I get tired really easily, but I can definitely swim decently. I love the beach, but I think I like a pool better is because the bottom of a pool is clean… hopefully. Also, I would like to hang out with friends. I have a few friends that live super close to me like Princess and Louisa. Louisa literally lives across the street. Princess leaves around the block. Since softball will be over I will have more free time to do that. I usually go to the park too because everyone goes there to hang out. I sometimes meet a friend there or drive someone there. That’s what I wish to do when we start summer vacation this year.

  7. Let me start by saying that the summer season is my absolute favorite! I spend as much time as possible either on the boat, by the pool, or at the beach. This summer is going to be a bit different than previous summers because I am starting it off by taking a family vacation. My husband, children and I will be leaving for Jamaica a few days after school ends. We will be spending over a week relaxing on the white sand beaches, visiting Bob Marley’s home, snorkeling, sightseeing, swimming in the ocean, and having fun in the pools! My husband and I had gone to Jamaica 5 years ago, and we really loved it, so when trying to think of a place to take our children, we thought Jamaica would be perfect! Once we get home I will be going back to my normal beach, boat and pool routine, but first… I’m visiting Jamaica, MON!

    1. Jamaica sounds soooooo awesome! Spending part of my summer there would be great! I went to Jamaica three years ago, and loved it. It was pretty hot out though (like 102 degrees hot) but I solved that by buying a Jamaican hand-held fan. Beaches, pools, and boats are essentials of summer!
