If I were able to wake up in the body of someone else it would be my cousin, Piper. She has a lot going on in her life, and she is only 4. I want to know what it’s to learn how to talk again. I want to know what it feels like to not know everything and go to school only on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Life would be soooooo much different if i was 7 years younger. I would not want to stay Piper forever, because I already went through school, and I know so much more than her, and I don’t want that to change. Being 11 has it perks and its downfalls. It’s good because I’m getting older to becoming an adult, and make my own choices. It’s bad because I actually want to be young, and not have to make wise decisions that might change my life for the worse. I’m glad I’m me!
Piper is a sweet pea, and I think swapping with her for a day or so would be a great experience for you. Going back to being a child, knowing what you already know would probably be a pretty neat thing. I also like that you are happy enough with yourself to be you! Being yourself is an awesome thing! Great job!
I agree, it would be pretty awesome to wake up in the body of a four year old! Piper sounds sooo cute, too. I wish I could stay a kid forever, too, and think it's great that you like yourself for who you are!
I agree. Getting older can be difficult for some people who wan to always stay young. I would love to see what it is like to be 4 again. Obviously, I would not want to start school over again though.
I didn’t think to do someone that is younger than me. But I agree I want to be young again too! Even though we are both young ourselves we still have so much past that we can’t do again.
I never thought about being younger, but now that I think about it it would be pretty interesting to discover things all over again like a little kid. Great answer!
As I sit thinking about who I would want to be, I think I would want to be my grandmother on my father’s side. Her name was Sybilla Kurtz, and she was born in 1924, not long after the Great Depression. The world was still recovering from that terrible situation when she was born. Her family struggled to make end’s meat, but worked very hard to give her and her sisters everything they needed. She met my grandfather, William Dutton, while he was home for leave during World War II. They married in 1944, but he was deployed again to Germany not long after the wedding. Fortunately, my grandfather did survive the war, although, he came home with many terrible experiences under his belt; one of which being that he was a soldier that landed on the beach in Normandy. Once he was home, they had 2 sons, and lived on a farm that bred and raced racehorses all over the country. My grandmother worked on the farm, was a wonderful mother to her sons, and a wonderful husband to my grandfather. Unfortunately, it was not the easiest of lives. The farm was hard work and the horses were very demanding, but she loved the horses and loved the life she worked so hard to preserve. In 1980 my grandmother was diagnosed with breast cancer, so they decided to sell the farm and moved to Brunswick, Georgia. Life didn’t get any easier for either of them. My grandfather had a job down there for the Army as an engineer. He enjoyed his job very much. My grandmother didn’t work because she was too ill. The cancer had spread, and she ended up with bone cancer. She died in late winter, 1984 at 59 years old. I am sure you are wondering why I would want to come back as a woman who struggled throughout her life, and eventually died of cancer...well, she was the kindest, sweetest, selfless, most loving woman I have ever had the privilege of knowing. She would read me stories and sing to me whenever we were together; we were inseparable when I was younger. I would like to come back as my grandmother to know what life was like back then. I would love to live on a farm, and experience the life journeys that she experienced. I would love to see life through her eyes and try to understand and appreciate everything she went though. I think that if given that opportunity, I would appreciate the wonderful things I have in MY life and the luck that I have had. I live a life without many struggles, and I am truly blessed.
Your grandmother sounds so nice! I always wonder what it would be like to live back then. I'm sure it would be challenging, but when you have a supportive group of family and friends, it makes things a lot easier!
I would love to see what it was like in the past. Your grandmother seems very kind and loving and it also seem that she loved her farm. I am sad to hear that she died at the young age of 59. I'm sure you would have loved for your kids to meet her.
I often think I am taking advantage over life. Sometimes I think my life is hard, but I can clearly see your grandmother’s life was a challenge. She seemed like an incredibly person the way you described her and I am sure she was!
Your grandma sounds like such an interesting person. It must have been so hard living during the Great Depression. My mom's grandparents lived during those times and she said that her grandpa had to drop out of school at 12 to go to work to help his parents support the family. I don't think I would have liked living during those times to be honest.
I have never really thought about that, but I guess I would want to wake up in the body of my little sister Erin. Then again, I would only want to be in her body if it was only for one day! I would NOT want to be her forever! If it was for a one day time period, I would wake up in her body so I could remember what it felt like to be young, and do nothing but fun in school every day. I also wonder how it would feel like to be so short you can’t reach the bathroom sink? I could also learn if she has a crush on any particular boy in school…… Can you imagine what it would feel like to be little again? To be able to do it all over again? We have all grown up so fast that our childhood is passing in the blink of an eye. Soon, we will become adults and have to deal with all the stress, and responsibilities. We will never be kids again. Every year, month, or day only happens once. You can’t ever get THIS day back ever. Thinking about becoming a little kid again would be great, and you would be able to get this day back again! That’s why I said that I would want to wake up in the body of my little sister. Although, part of it is because of learning her secret crush…….
I think that is a neat idea. It would be interesting to be in the body of a younger sibling. I'm not quite sure if I would want to be in my brother's body though. Boys are kinda weird! Great Job!
I agree, we have grown up to fast. If you try to remember what you did when you were 1 or 2 you can't remember. I would love to see how little kids act compared to big kids like you and me.
After reading this I understood how much you want to know Erin’s secret crush. Haha! I totally agree being that little again would be really cool! Sometimes I wish to relive a day in my life, but it’s sad knowing I will never have that ability.
Interesting response. I have to be honest and say that i would NOT want to wake up in my twin sister's body. She's a girl and I cannot take the girl drama all the time. Its bad enough when I have to listen to it, let alone experience it.
I have actually thought about this quite a lot. Would my life be BETTER or WORSE if I changed bodies with someone else? I guess that depends who I switch bodies with. I would definitely want to switch bodies with somebody famous, or a baby, but not for long, only for a day or so. Someone I would want to switch bodies with is my baby cousin Sara. She, I think, is about two years-old. I actually have no idea, I’m just guessing. But, I think that would be very weird and exciting to be in a 2 year-old’s body. Would you still know how to walk and talk? Or would you only know what the person you switched bodies with knows? I think that you would still be and still think like you, but I’m not really sure if you could do what you used to be able to do. It would be very interesting to see what other people would treat you as you were two. But, I would not want switching bodies to be permanent. I still love my life, and would NOT trade it with someone else’s, but if I could for a day or so, I would definitely trade my life for someone else’s life.
I think switching bodies with a famous person would be fun. It would be nice to have a TON of money and famous friends for a bit. I'm not sure if I would want the stress that seems to come along with being famous though. Great job!
I agree that I wouldn't want to trade my life for someone else's permanently. But I think switching bodies with your (possibly 2-years old) cousin would be pretty cool! It's interesting thinking about becoming a toddler again! :)
I also agree that I wouldn't want to trade my life with someone permanently. Yes, you could see how their life is but I like my life. I also wonder whether or not at 2 years old if we could walk.
I agree! I would not want to switch bodies permanently, too. For the reason being I worked too hard on who I am today and to give that up would be very hard.
Like you I have never really thought about switching bodies with someone else, so I am having trouble with this question. However, if I had to I would have to be someone either rich or famous.
If I could wake up in the body of someone else tomorrow it would be my brother, Carlos. I would choose Carlos because he has such a bright future in front of him! Which I hope I also do, but he is living it right now. He is in the Army now and is planning to be a police officer once he gets out of the Army. Carlos is one of my role models so, being him it must be nice to be admired. Like I mentioned before he has such a bright future and is at a good age, 20, where he can do so much, but has even more to do in the future. I wonder how he feels being in the Army and knowing when people talk on the phone with him they cry because they miss him so much. I wonder if he almost feels guilty that he is so far away from them or if he feels honored to be so missed. Maybe something in between. I would just would want to see how he reacts to life as a whole.
Choosing to switch bodies with someone you admire THAT much is such a huge compliment to that person! It is wonderful that you think so highly of your brother, and I think that it would make him very happy to know that you look up to him so much. I'm sure he is an amazing person! I hope he stays safe, and achieves all of his goals! Great Job!
Carlos is a great person to look up to Julie! It would be pretty cool to switch bodies with someone that inspiring. You have such a nice brother, unlike mine......
Carlos, sound like a brave and kind person. He protects our country in the army and is definitely a good role model. He would be a perfect person to switch lives with for the day.
If I was able to wake up in a new body tomorrow morning, I’d wake up in Paul Rabil’s. He is a MLL( Major League Lacrosse) player. He’s probably the best lacrosse player that I have ever heard of, I imagine that he makes good money too. It’s not because I would want the money or the fame, lacrosse is just my favorite sport. I play it now and am one of the better kids on the team. Paul Rabil is probably one of the best(if not, the best) lacrosse players out there. He plays on the MLL team called the New York Lizards. He is quite tall at 6’4 and he is 30 years old. He went to Johns Hopkins which has a really good college lacrosse team. He plays midy(which is short for mid field). I would love to be one of the very best lacrosse players.
Very cool! I think being a professional athlete would be a really neat thing! My daughter plays varsity LAX, but girls LAX is so different from boys. Either way, they are both a lot of fun to watch! Great job!
Even though I don't know who he is, Paul Rabil sounds pretty neat! I can see why you want to switch bodies with a pro lacrosse player, especially since you love lacrosse. Just imagine switching bodies with somebody so inspiring!
If I really liked lacrosse I would definitely want to switch lives with him. He sounds like he has a pretty cool life. I also see why you would want to switch lives with him, because you love lacrosse.
I like how you don’t want it for the money, but for the sport itself. I hope you get as a good as him because in most of your blogs you seem to mention lacrosse. It’s good to see you are so passionate about it.
I would choose Mike Trout, whose is in the M.L.B. He is called the best player of today. That would be amazing, to wake up and know that you are one of the greatest of all time! He is also super nice to fans and signs autographs for them all the time. Trout is the face of the M.L.B. after Derek Jeter. He has over 100 home runs in 3 or 4 seasons, that will lead up to 500 home runs soon! But would you have their mind and know nothing about your other self, or will it be your mind in someone else's body? If it was like that then I would not. If I had a game I would not know where to go it’s all the way in L.A.! Do you see where I am coming from? I hope it would be the first one.
Similar to Nick's reply, I think that being a professional athlete would be a lot of fun! Imagine...you get paid to PLAY! and to stay in shape with some of the best trainers around! That would be the life!! Great Job!
Switching bodies with a professional athlete is a great choice! I would love to be famous, although only if it was doing something I enjoy. And I think it's pretty obvious that you enjoy baseball!⚾️
Being a professional athlete seems like an imaginary thing to me because people get paid to do what they love. I pay to play softball, but they get paid for playing it! It’s such an unreal thing to me, but it would be a really awesome career.
I feel I would chose to be Taylor Swift. Taylor swift is famous and inspires to be to do their best. She encourages kids and adults to follow dreams. I would like to be her because I would like to see what being famous would feel like. With thousands of fans all over the world. Wherever you go there is someone who is like “OMG it’s Taylor Swift.” I wonder if it is stressful being and star. I would also like to be her because she encourages people and I love to encourage people, too. She is also kind and loves her fans. Also I would like to see what it feels like to be famous. This is why I would like to live her life to see what she goes through.
Great response! I agree that Taylor Swift would be a pretty awesome person to swap bodies with! Not only is she a very talented artist, but she seems to be a very genuine, caring, and kind person too! She seems to be a "whole package" kind of person. Great job!
I agree, Taylor Swift is a talented, encouraging person, like you said! She would be an awesome person to switch bodies with! Sometimes, I guess it could be stressful, but you just have to, "Shake it off!" 🎤
I find it unreal that millions of people admire one person such as, Taylor Swift. I’m sure it’s not that stressful, but then again paparazzi can make up lies and much of your privacy will disappear. Maybe being a celebrity is worse than I thought...
If I I could switch bodies with someone for only a day it would most likely be my little cousin Ella. Some reasons are that she's head cheerleader of her team. She gets to go out on the field and cheer for her brother during his football game. She also gets amazing grades. ( she's also 6). She's pretty cool for her age. Not many 6 year olds can do what she does. Twice a week is karate, three times a week is gymnastics and 1 a week is cheer practice. If I was her I wouldn't be used to such a complex schedule. I would probably need to think about my sports. But what would be the bad part? My favorite older cousin (Andrew,12) would be my older brother. We are always hanging out, going to Long Beach Island. It would be kinda strange. But I love Ella and it would be pretty cool.
I never really thought about switching bodies with someone else, but if I had to I guess it would be Bill Gates or Mark Zuckerberg. Both are computer geniuses and have made a lot of money for themselves. They both are the founders of very very successful companies that generate a lot of money each and everyday. Also, I think I am a lot like them in that I am not very good at sports or "sporty", however I am very good with computers and know a lot about them. These are the only two possibilities I can think of, because like I said I really never thought about it before. I guess I am pretty happy with who I am.

I would probably need to think about my sports. But what would be the bad part? My favorite older cousin (Andrew,12) would be my older brother. We are always hanging out, going to Long Beach Island. It would be kinda strange. But I love Ella and it would be pretty cool.
ReplyDeleteI never really thought about switching bodies with someone else, but if I had to I guess it would be Bill Gates or Mark Zuckerberg.
